Youth Programs

Youth are not just the museum audiences of the future but also the Museum audiences of today. We practice this by offering a multitude of pathways for young people and families to enter the Museum and take up space with their creative exploration and expression.

Youth Events

There are no youth or teen events scheduled at this time. Please check back soon!

Summer and Fall 2024 programs sponsored in part by Michigan State University Federal Credit Union.

Teen Council

The Teen Council is a select group of young creatives coming together to explore the arts, network with their peers, and have fun. Designed to inspire local youth with the power of art, Council members meet weekly after school to participate in discussions, practice art making, visit local galleries and museums, curate a teen art exhibition, and work with emerging and established artists to learn new skills. The Museum acknowledges that teens can collaboratively build strong community engagement by understanding the frameworks of identity, advocacy, and the culture of Detroit and beyond.

Support

MOCAD’s Teen Council is made possible with generous support from the Gucci Changemakers program and the Youth Leadership Fund at the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan.
